The “Step to Empower for Ukrainian Women” project was created to support refugee women in the UK by helping them rebuild emotional resilience, regain professional confidence, and form strong community ties. With the help of grant funding, we successfully delivered 12 transformative workshops and 60 personalised one-to-one mentoring sessions for 15 participants, addressing challenges such as trauma, underemployment, and isolation. These sessions provided practical tools in areas like time management, leadership, and stress management, helping women build self-worth and take clear steps toward their goals.
Beyond skills development, the project fostered a powerful sense of community, enabling participants to support each other, share experiences, and even begin leading their own local initiatives. The positive outcomes — increased confidence, emotional healing, and renewed direction — were reflected in participant feedback and personal testimonies. Our work has not only empowered women to take control of their lives but also laid the foundation for lasting social and professional integration in the UK.
